Yesterday my friend Pavan downloaded a video from youtube which was a Discovery Channel episode named "Sizing the Universe". It explained about the vastness of the universe, size relativity of various stars. It also went into micro level "Atom", its structure. There were many amazing details provided. One of that caught my mind, and here I am writing about the same.
It is an accepted fact that all the matter of the universe was created during the Big Bang. Although there are many other theories also about the begining of the universe, the Big Bang Theory remains the widly accepted one among majority of the scientists. So we say that all the matter was created during the big bang. And as all matter is essential made up of atoms, so all atoms were created during big bang.
Observation 1: All atoms were created during Big Band Explosion.
Now lets move ahead of the Big Bang. So all matter/atoms were created, and took various forms like stars/planets etc. Another well accepted fact is that atoms cannot be created or destroyed. They can just change their form (recycled) or get converted into energy (E=MC2).
Observation 2: Atoms cannot be created or destroyed (after Big Bang)
So every thing which we see around us (including us) consists of atoms. And since no new atoms were created after the Big Bang, so EVERYTHINIG essentially consists of the old-recycled atoms, which were once part of the star which exploded as Bid Bang! So may be some of the air we are inhaling now consists of the air which was exhaled by some pre-historic dinosaur (recycled atoms). So directly of indirectly, everything we know of came out of a single star.
Observation 3: Everything consists of the atoms which were once part of the star which exploded as Big Bang.
I hope that everyone will agree with the 3 observations I noted above. Now lets note down some of the common beliefs of the Hindu Mythology. In any of the Hindu mythological book (Ramayan/Gita/Vedas), somewhere it will be mentioned that God is the creator of everything. God is termed as "The Father" which is "Param Pita Parmeshwar". Everything came out of him.
Belief 1: God created all things we know about.
There is also a belief of "Re-birth" / "Punar-Janam". It is believed that no one ever dies. the human soul cannot be killed. It just moved to another human body, like changing clothes.
Belief 2: Human soul cannot be destroyed.
Also it is believed in Hindu Religion that we all are children of God, we are his part, God exists in every living/non-living thing in the universe. In one of the shlokas, it is said that God says to human that you dont have to go to temple to see me, I exist in you.
Belief 3: God exists in every living / non-living thing.
Now, if one ready the "Observation" and "Belief" together, things will get a bit clear. There is no need to write anymore, co-relation if left to your imagination!
Nikhil you have analysed well... but I have a fundamental point...do you want to have a debate on this...?
ReplyDeleteHere xYz is Avil ;)
ya sure..
ReplyDeleteLage raho Nikhil. Keep going.
ReplyDeletehi bro.. well said... good thing dat my bro started to get religious.. MUHAHAHAHA!!!!
ReplyDeleteyou sure have analysed it well....
bring that vidio home..
ja ne onee-chan (bye big bro in japanese. teheheheheh...)

ReplyDeleteScience explains many things and prove it mathematically. Now consider E = m * c * c and my mass is 97 Kg. So calcualte amount of enery that can be converted using my mass as per equation above.
ReplyDeleteNikhil: One may argue God created human body with such a high energy contnet.
Avil: Name one scientific experiment which can handle such high amount of energy and condesne into a mass called human body.
Science can explain explain everything in terms of electron, proton and neutron. Can anyone explain working of human brain in terms on these elementary particles?
Science observes something and explains it mathematically. In some cases it proposes a theory and verifies it experimentally.
A theist will attribute this to God and science will try to explain it in terms of either subatomic particles like particle physiscs or based on observation of science like chemistry and biology.
If energy can neither be created or nor be destroyed then how did this whole process of creation and conversion of mass and energy started? Or do we "assume" that at some point it started and we take it as it is to explain everything related to creation of universe scientifically? Isn't it like saying "take it for granted something named God created it?" We know charge of one atom is 1.6 * 10 ^ -19. But why not any other value? why electron has only this charge and not other? Can we argue that it is "observed" fact but can not be explained why this value only?
No reason to believe that science and belief in God can not co-exist. Very very interesting but a very fundametal topic for debate :) :)
